The Demands-Resources model balances the demands of the event with your resources, helping you train smarter and build confidence ahead of your big event.
It wasn't always the case...I used to be a lot less structured but I found that I got confidence through proper training and doing the right thing, and structuring my training was one of the ways I could get that confidence. I've used this model a few times and it has served me well till now.
I am with you on this 💯. I enjoy analysing and writing down all the areas that either worked or did not work for me during training. It includes nutrition and running accessories too. I am not sure that it contributes directly to my confidence but it definetly does give me a sense of safety and readiness. The only area that it does not work is Marathon running. For some reason (I rest when I run on the trails especially if routes are new and suffer when I need to perform) the coping mechanisms fly out of the window.
Good to know that there is someone who plans things in more detail than I do :) an interesting read 👍
