Ready to design your own ultra training? This article helps you craft a personalised plan that adapts to your life while targeting your race day demands.
My biggest obstacle resides right before where you began the post. I am struggling to be honest with myself about where I actually am physically during training. The planning isn’t that daunting, however the battle between recovery and pushing through flares up throughout. So I would say that planning recovery is the challenge I wrestle with.
Yeah! Totally understand! I think this is a challenge which most everyday athletes struggle with. I am also facing a similar problem. I've had quite a few injuries in the past 1 and a half years, and since I had pretty much no injuries for the previous 3 years, I am really struggling. I've also turned 30 now, which is still young in the ultra world, but I am already questioning if I should stop 'running after my younger self' 😂
I am 49 and just beginning to seriously train for an ultra. It’s been a decade since I have been in intentional condition and I’ve had to shed the comparison of the old me to the current me. I’m on a confrontation quest that I am confident will lead to the best me ever, but maybe not my fastest times ever. It’s a personal reckoning in the form of training. I have really enjoyed the exchange, thank you for your energy!
This is very useful content for me! Thank you for what you do!
